Visiting Austin for the first time?! Well you're in luck because these bitches went to college here and lived here for six years! Here's a comprehensive list of everything you should check off your to-do list.
Spend the night out on Dirty 6th Street - they close down a few blocks for pedestrians, you're bound to see some weirdo while you're out. Some of our favorite bars are Firehouse Lounge (the entrance is in a hostel behind a false book shelf), Peckerheads, Blind Pig Pub, Shakespeare's, and the Voodoo Room
Eat at the original Chuy's on Barton Springs Rd.
Rent a boat on Lake Travis - maybe you'll spot Matthew McConaughey who has a house on the water
Take a tour of the Texas Capitol
For a classier night out compared to 6th Street, hit up Rainey St
Attend a UT Longhorns football game - you may also spot McConaughey there as well! He's a BIG Longhorn fan
Watch the Austin Bats under South Congress Bridge
Zip line along Lake Travis - and eat at Oasis once you're done for a great patio overlooking the lake, but be prepared for a wait time
Visit Graffiti Park
Eat at one of the many food trucks around the city
Spend the day at Zilker Park - if you're there during the winter, be sure to check out Trail of Lights
Take a dip at Barton Springs Pool
Watch the sunset at Mt. Bonnell
Walk down South Congress Avenue - and grab a bite at Hopdoddy's for the best burger in town or Home Slice for some yummy pizza. And check out the iconic "i love you so much" mural on the site of Jo's Coffee
Take a tour of the UT campus
Paddle board on Lady Bird Lake
Eat at Hula Hut - if you're down for Tex Mex with a Polynesian twist, right along Lake Austin
Attend one of the city's many festivals like SXSW & ACL
Enjoy some good BBQ at Franklin's Barbecue - be prepared for a long wait
