Our friends and family are always asking us how we are getting to travel so much at such a young age. There's no real secret here, just lots of research and money saving! We're also both blessed to be working at a job that gives us a good chunk of paid time off. But outside of that, here are our tips on how you can travel like we do:

  • Digit - this is a money saving app that analyzes your spending and automatically saves money everyday based on your spending. It's really cool because you don't have to think about it at all and you don't even notice it's missing. And you can withdraw the money at any time back in to your bank account. Within the app you can set different goals based on what you're saving for and can have more money go in to certain goals if you want. My current goals include: Greece Trip, Student Loans, Credit Card, Rainy Day, Emergency Fund. Here's a link to get you $5 to start you off!

  • Capital One® Venture® Card - this is my favorite travel rewards card that I treat like a debit card - I use it for almost every single purchase and it gets me 2 rewards miles for every dollar that is spent (not just on travel, but EVERY purchase). You can then redeem the rewards for any flights, hotels, rental cars, or even cash back. Plus you will earn 50,000 Bonus Miles once you spend $3,000 on purchases within the first 3 months from account opening. Also, no foreign transaction fees and you will receive up to $100 statement credit on your application fee for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck!!

  • Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World Elite™ Mastercard® - this is my second favorite travel rewards card that's more focused on traveling via American Airlines. Not only can you redeem for flights, but you can preferred boarding and your first checked bag free. And you will earn 50k American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles after making $2,500 in purchases within the first 3 months of account opening - definitely take advantage of it! I booked a trip to Paris round trip that only used up 33k of those miles!

  • Acorns - this is another money saving app like Digit. But the difference is is that Acorns invests the money you put in (but don't worry, you can take the money you put in out at any time without penalty). You can also do weekly recurring payments and round ups on purchases. So for examples, I have $20 go in to my Acorns account every Saturday and I have every purchase I make round up to the nearest $5. So if I get coffee in the morning for $3.28, then $1.72 goes in to my Acorns account. Easy way to save and invest right on your phone! Here's a link to get you $5 to start you off!

  • Cheap DFW - this is a website who I also follow on Instagram and Twitter (to get text updates) that posts cheap flight deals from the Dallas-Forth Worth area (where we're based at). This includes both Domestic and International flights. It looks like there is this option for other cities too if you're not in the DFW area. Head over to the website and hover over "Flights from other cities."

  • Black Friday - we have booked our past two big trips on Black Friday these past two years. A lot of airlines have deals over that weekend, especially Norwegian Airlines. It depends on where you want to go obviously, but I have seen so many amazing US to Europe deals here.

  • Cyber Monday - just like Black Friday, these past two years Cyber Monday has been when we booked our hotels for the two big trips I mentioned. Typically on Hotels.com which seems to have great deals and you can get points on the site to rack up free nights of stay. I have also seen deals for RyanAir on Cyber Monday which allowed for free baggage.

XOXO, Cam
