Berlin is one of our favorite cities in Germany. It’s a really modern city but you can still enjoy all the history Germany has to offer. It kind of reminds me of Budapest, so if you love Budapest, Berlin is a must visit. I was there for only two days and I was able to pack in so much and I want to share my top list of things you HAVE to see and experience.
Brandenburg Gate - This monument is a symbol of peace and unity in Germany. It’s in a really cool town square type area with horse drawn carriages and most importantly, a Starbucks right across the street.

Reichstag Building Tour - This is right next to Bradenburg gate so plan on doing this after seeing that. You have to schedule a tour, you can’t just walk in. Make sure to do that in advance and show up 15 minutes early! There was a long line when I went and you have to go through a lot of security because it’s a government building.
Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe - In the same area as the Reichstag building and Brandenburg gate, you will find this memorial dedicated to Holocaust victims. There is a museum underneath the memorial that is free to visit.

Stone Brewery - If you are into craft beer, you have to check out Stone Brewery. If you aren’t into craft beer, you still have to check it out because this place is awesome. There are trees INSIDE the building and makes for some awesome photo ops.
Museum Island - Museum Island is home to FIVE museums. I love museums but if you don’t have time to visit all five, just check out the Pergamon Museum. It’s the most popular one and has part of the Ishtar Gate.
TV Tower - Ever been to CN Tower in Toronto? Or maybe the Space Need in Seattle? This is the same thing, but in Berlin! There is a bar at the top. I suggest you go during sunset for the best views.
Checkpoint Charlie - This is a really cool photo op. It’s a checkpoint that used to be in between East and West Berlin during the cold war. There are still armed guards at the checkpoint.
East Side Gallery - Berlin Wall - This is obvious, the thing Berlin is most known for is the Berlin Wall and it’s an absolute must see while you are there. What’s left of the wall is covered in graffiti and art.
XOXO, Em
