First time heading to London? Well then you need to prepare for all of the stops you need to hit in this gorgeous cities, especially if you only have 3 days for less. Check out our itinerary below for things I would encourage all first-timers to include as part of their their trip, along with the costs it was for it all, which was just about $400 each.
Disclaimer: the pricing does not include flights to/from your home city, food, or taxi/Ubers and prices for specific joint costs (like hotels) were split between 3 people.
WHERE WE STAYED:
Comfort Inn Buckingham Palace , which was $156/night for 3 nights split between 3 people = $156 each.
Basic hotel with breakfast included, close to Victoria Train & Bus Stations and Buckingham Palace.
DAY 1:
Take a tour of the Tower of London and see the Crown Jewels = Don't do this without getting the tour guide, I would not have known what I was looking at if I didn't have it = $36 each

Warner Brothers Studio Tour: The Making of Harry Potter – my favorite part of the trip, do NOT miss out on this if you’re a Harry Potter fan. You will get to walk through the Great Hall, see sets, walk through the Forbidden Forest, see Privet Drive, and tons of other props from the movie. Prepare to spend about 4 hours doing the tour = $53 each + $41/roundtrip coach bus transportation (optional)

DAY 2:
Get tickets for the Hop On – Hop Off bus tour (48 hours) - you'll need this to hit all of the main spots over the next couple of days so you're not having to pay for taxis or worry about figuring out the tube = $90 each
Visit Buckingham Palace – see the changing of the guards at 11AM, but get ready to fight the crowd = free!

Take a ride on the London Eye - this is the big ferris wheel you have probably seen in tons of pictures if you didn't know. Get your tickets on line prior so you don't have to wait in the ticket line = $32 each
See Shakespeare’s Globe - if you didn't know, this is a reconstruction of the Globe Theatre where Shakespeare wrote his plays = free!
Visit the Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park - the Winter Wonderland is in winter time only (obviously), but go enjoy the park on your own time even if it isn't winter when you go = free!

Go on a stroll around Big Ben, Elizabeth Tower, & Westminster Abbey = free!

DAY 3:
Take the classic Beatles photo on Abbey Road - get ready to fight with all of the other tourists there doing the same thing, but stand your ground and as soon as it's open, run in there and snap a shot! = free!
Walk through Trafalgar Square - this is basically just a huge square with a few water fountains, but it's very pretty and super crowded = free!

Drive/walk over Tower Bridge, the London Bridge, & the Millennium Bridge = free!
Have a night out at Picadilly Circus = free!

Take a cliche tourist photo in an old red phone booth - I mean come on, you HAVE To do this and I am judging you if you don't = free!
